Operation Impact Inc.

About Us

Operation Impact Inc. of Abbeville, South Carolina was founded in the year 1990.

Our History

The overall concept of Operation Impact started in 1990 with a vision from the Honorable Reverend Johnny Waller. His vision was to reach other men and motivate them to make a difference in Abbeville County. During the first two years, the organization went through a developing phase establishing the context and mission of the new organization.

After two years of the organization, Operation Impact elected the Honorable Claude Thomas as chairman. His vision was to grow the organization and make a lasting impact within the community. Under his leadership in 1993, the First Annual Awards Banquet was held. The Banquet served as a way for Operation Impact to recognize others in the community contributing to Abbeville County.

Over the years, Operation Impact has done numerous things within Abbeville County, such as,

  • Reward 3 Yearly Scholarships to students at all three High Schools in the county
  • Annual Black History Program
  • Mentor Programs
  • Immediate Needs Impact, assisting citizens in need.
  • Restoration of Historical Local Cemeteries
  • Annual participation in Boo on the Square
  • Annual Christmas Project

Operation Impact continues to be a beacon of light in the community. The members work to uphold the mission, “The purpose of Operation Impact is to emphasize the development of leaders and role models, to encourage individual and group achievement, to provide recognition and support educational and social programs, and to bring about unity and fellowship of men with like vision throughout Abbeville County.”
